The island of Coiba is part of Panama and is next to the Pacific coast of the country, in the Gulf of Chiriqui. Former penal colony, nowadays it is part of the Coiba national park, known for its diversity of marine life and jungle animals, such as white-faced monkeys. The manta rays, whales and hammerhead sharks inhabit the diving sites of the Bahía de Bahia reef.
